WoodPoP Announces Date of the WoodPoP Dara Award Ceremony
The European Wood Policy Platform (WoodPoP) is pleased to announce that the inaugural Dara Award ceremony will take place on 26 November 2026 in Prague, Czechia. The Dara Award is a new European distinction recognising and celebrating excellence in sustainable timber architecture and engineering.
Launched at the 4th High Level Meeting of the European Wood Policy Platfoem last 15 October 2025 in Izola, Slovenia, the award highlights the potential of the renewable resource wood to support climate action, healthier liveable spaces, and its essential role in decarbonising the construction sector.
Recognising best timber projects
Identified national representatives will nominate exemplary timber residential and non-residential buildings and infrastructure, as well as renovation, extension, and build-on-top projects, which will be judged anonymously against criteria covering design and construction, innovative and efficient wood use, sustainability, policy contribution, and societal benefit.
Shortlisted projects will be featured in the WoodPoP Hall of Fame and promoted across WoodPoP’s communication channels, with winners honoured during the ceremony in Prague — held alongside WoodPoP’s 5th High-Level Meeting.
