About Me
Alfred Kammerhofer leads the Forestry and Timber Industry Section at the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN). He also heads the Wood Energy Department at Switzerland’s National Energy Supply Agency.
With a professional background spanning forest policy, timber markets, and industrial wood value chains, he combines deep technical knowledge with a strong commitment to economic and environmental impact. His experience ranges across research, consultancy, and operational forestry — bringing together perspectives from science, business, and public administration.
Within the European Wood Policy Platform (WoodPoP), he co-leads the Technical Working Group on Innovation & Research, fostering stronger ties between research, industry, and investment to accelerate timber innovation across Europe.
